Midvaal Local Municipality is seeking applications for the position of General Worker [x9 posts].

REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 10 (Minimum Requirement).
• Grade 12 (Advantageous).
• Valid Driver’s License (Advantageous).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Bilingual).
• Applicants residing within the Midvaal area will be given preference.
• Ability to follow and execute given instructions.
• Good physical health, basic skills, and knowledge of performing physical work.
• Must meet operational requirements of the post.
• Hard-working and self-disciplined.
• 1 year relevant experience in general work within a water section in a Local Government Authority.

DUTIES:

• Responsible for loading and off-loading materials and equipment of the section with protected hands and safety tools.
• Set up traffic signs to warn traffic about workers next to municipal roads during excavation work.
• Clean in and around the working area with various manual labor equipment/tools to ensure a clean environment.
• Perform any labor-related work when requested by the supervisor or the section superintendent.
• Execute all legal instructions from the supervisor to ensure productivity and the smooth running of the section.
• Perform any other related ad hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.

SALARY:

• R 142,608.00 p.a – R 156,228.00 p.a (Level 13 of a Grade 08 Local Authority)
• Total package inclusive of all benefits: R 265,897.52 p.a
